Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan at Air Force Station Kanpur Cabinet approves transfer on lease of 6.5628 acres of Defence land to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan at Air Force Station Kanpur for construction of school building The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved the transfer on lease of 6.5628 acres of Defence land to Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan(KVS) at Air Force Station Kanpur (AFS Kanpur). It will be used for construction of school building and other associated infrastructure in partial modification of its earlier decision on 16.06.2011 wherein it had approved transfer 8.90 acres of defence land to KVS at AFS, Kanpur. The defence land is being transferred on lease basis at a nominal rent of Rs. 1/- per annum without any premium in terms of existing Government policy on the subject. Admission of Poor Students in KV Schools

Admission of Poor Students in Kendriya Vidyalayas Admissions in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) are decided on the basis of Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) Admission Guidelines giving priority to wards of transferable Central Government employees. It does not have any income slab as criterion for deciding admissions. However, as per provisions of Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009 KVS already provides for reservation of 25% seats in class-I at entry stage to the children belonging to SC / ST / OBC non creamy layer / EWS / BPL and differently abled children taken together. Keeping in view the needs of low income groups of the society, the Hon’ble Members of Parliament have been requested to recommend only those children whose parents have an annual income below Rs. 5 lakhs, for consideration for admission in the KVs under their special dispensation quota. Academic year 2017-18 – Fee hike in KV Schools Fee hike in Kendriya Vidyalayas – Academic year 2017-18 In Rajya Sabha Minister of State for HRD replied to a question yesterday regarding increasing the fee structure of KV Schools. “Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has informed that the Sponsoring Authorities of 3 Project Sector Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) have marginally increased their fee structure w.e.f. the academic year 2017-18. In one KV i.e. KV Rourkela Steel Plant, Rourkela, the onetime admission fee has also been revised from Rs. 250/- to Rs.2000/-. The names of the project KVs which have increased their fee structure are KV, Korba No. 2 NTPC; KV, Rourkela Steel Plant, Rourkela; & KV No. 2, Survey of India, Uppal.
